The coil bush is a light and cost-optimised alternative to a dual bush for lesser loads. It typically consists of a steel insert in the form of a rolled tube or two half-shells that are coated on both sides with a rubber layer. Depending upon the requirements, several rubber layers separated by steel inserts are possible. For reducing weight at corresponding loads, coil bushes can also be realised using a plastic tube or plastic half shells.
The opening of the coil bush can be widened for mounting around a stabilizer.
